i feel like the black sheep of my family.
not my immediate family, but of my dad’s extended family.
just because i’m independent and refuse to get tied down to a place that hold no future for me, it doesn’t make me cold and distant. i’m just busy and out here struggling. i don’t know why it always boils down to me reaching out when the airways goes both ways. no one was thinking about when i was sick for a week and a half and out of school; but as soon as someone sneezes i’m supposed to fly back. my younger cousin has told me literally everytime i’ve seen him since i’ve gone to college that he hates me… and for what? because i didn’t text a 10 year old everyday and ask him how the 5th grade is going. they don’t accept for who i am, it’s always a question of “why be an artist?” they shun me and mock me.. and it hurts.
i’m strong and can take a lot… but just because i’m not breaking down in front of you doesn’t mean i won’t once i’m alone. i’ve never judged them … for anything. no matter what was going on in their lives , i’ve always had a kind word and a smile for them. giving them gifts, made them pieces… but it always boils down to me being me.
